Things That Go Bump In The Night
It was about 1:30 a.m. when I heard the first noise. I rolled over and tried to ignore the sound; it was probably just the cat jumping down from a chair or something. My head was foggy with sleep as I drifted back into a dream that I can't remember now. But before I could get very deep into my sleep I heard a sound again. This time I couldn't ignore it; it was the very distinct sound of small feet running across the kitchen floor. Throwing aside the blankets, I slid from my bed and braved the darkness of the hallway. As I passed my daughters' bedroom door, I could hear the deep breathing of a sleeping child, and then again as I passed the boys' bedroom. Descending the stairs, I caught sight of the cat. She meowed lazily at me from her spot in the floor near the table. Pale moonlight spilled through the kitchen curtains, landing on the floor in a streak of silver. From what I could tell, the kitchen appeared to be empty. Until I heard a throaty giggle that I recognized easily--Keelie. I called her name, she responded with another deep chuckle. Then I heard the sound of pots and pans clanking together. I walked over to the cupboard where I keep the pans to find her pulling out all of the pots and pans and trying to climb inside. AT 1:30 IN THE MORNING! Honestly.
Her uncle reassured me, telling me that she had followed an angel downstairs to play. Maybe the angel had unzipped the supposedly toddler proof tent we keep over her bed with the express purpose of avoiding such situations. So now we must come up with another, longer lasting and truly toddler proof way of keeping Keelie safe and snug in her bed all night. Any suggestions?

Honestly, that's funny...but not!
I bet she does have a few little angels playing with her many a time.
I love your background.

You are a wonderful sister - to remember to brush her teeth, etc. We wish we were closer so we could visit her in the hospital. We cannot believe all the health issues they have gone through & continue to deal with.
We will continue to pray for her & your family. Stay strong! Love the Jones fam.
