Dysentery, The Not-So-Common Cold, and Mountains of Laundry

The title about sums up our vacation in St. George. We returned with Aaron still carrying around his illness like a heavy suitcase that he'd love to have left behind. On the drive home, Keelie suddenly had an attack of the crozzles (our word for ... eh hem ... dysentery), probably from drinking from a filthy water fountain we were told contain dead fish, dead birds, and all manner of yard debris. Needless to say, today I am tirelessly trying to climb the giant mountain of laundry left after such a vacation.

All in all, we did have a great time. We visited Red Cliffs Recreation area, part of Zion National Park, the ghost town of Grafton, and the St. George temple grounds. The kids enjoyed looking at rocks, chasing lizards, swimming at the pool, and eating the hotel breakfast. You can tell by the smiles on their faces that the school they were missing and the subsequent homework they would have to make up were the last things on their minds.

Yep, sometimes you've just gotta get out there and do these things, sick husband, missed classes, crozzles and all...

I have to say that Aaron was a real trooper. Its tough to do an Outdoors trip when you feel like that. But I am glad that you did have some good moments.

I'm sorry you have had sick family members! That is the worst when you are just trying to have fun.

I have never even heard of Grafton. Living here, I should find out about some of these things!

Zion is one of my favorite places on earth. There's something so inspiring about the landscape there, like HF placed it there just for us to muse over and marvel at.
